Course: Homelessness & Drug Use
| Course Date: Course Length: | 26/01/20051 Day Course |
| Course Summary: The role of homeless services has developed significantly
over recent years with the implementation of local
street population strategies, Supporting People and an
increasing emphasis on training and employment.
Substance misuse and homelessness often co-exist,
preventing clients from making positive changes in their
lives. This interactive one-day course explores the link
between drugs and homelessness, focusing on
evidenced-based practice, and aims to equip
participants with effective strategies for working with
homeless drug-users.
This course is aimed at generic housing workers in hostels, daycentres, outreach etc. who are seeking to increase their knowledge and develop their skills with homeless drug-users. This course would also be valuable for specialist workers with responsibility for developing drugs work in their own agency. Some basic knowledge of drugs will be useful.Learning Objectives:
