Course Summary:

This course is designed to give participants an overall understanding of the substance misuse assessment process. The course will explore how assessment fits within generic assessments, as well as within the NTA’s Models of Care framework. The course will also enable workers to develop techniques and communication skills that will allow them to confidently identify and address key issues of concern and develop care plans that meet the needs of the service user.

This course is aimed at all professionals / volunteers who undertake assessments in the social care field and also substance misuse workers new to the field or those who wish to refresh their assessment skills. The course will be of particular benefit to those undertaking common assessments, care co-ordinating and working in partnership with other agencies.
