Course: Counselling Skills for Substance Misuse Workers

| Course Summary: The course is designed to give an introduction to
counselling interventions in a substance misuse
context. Participants will briefly explore some basic
generic counselling skills, commonly used models and
also investigate goal-orientated working, clinical support
and the question of outcome monitoring. Participants
will leave with an overview of the relevant issues and a
clear understanding of minimum good practice in
substance misuse counselling services.
This course is aimed at all professionals / volunteers working within the social care field who have an interest in counselling. The course will be of particular benefit for workers who wish to develop basic skills & techniques involved in a person-centred counselling approach.Learning Objectives:
