| Course Summary: As workers from a wide variety of backgrounds come into
contact with individuals who use drugs, it has become
increasingly important to gain a realistic understanding
of how drugs impact upon the individual and society.
This course is designed for anyone wishing to get an up-to-
date understanding of the drugs world and develop
greater confidence and awareness of drugs and related
issues.
This course is aimed at all professionals/volunteers working within the social care field such as Housing, Employment, Criminal Justice System etc. The course will be of particular benefit for workers who wish to identify drug-use amongst the clients they work with and develop their skills in making effective referrals to treatment services. ‘Drugs Awareness’ can be also be taken as a foundation course for some of the more advanced courses in Hungerford Training Programme or as a 2-day course in combination with the advanced drugs training course.Learning Objectives:
